Restored, one layer at a time.
Addiction counseling by secure video, anywhere in Texas, and in person in San Antonio. For people who are tired of numbing it, and for the families who love them. We start with a conversation, not a form to fill out.
Addiction rarely stays in one room
It did not arrive overnight, and it does not sit quietly in one part of your life. By the time most people reach out, it has already touched several.
- Finances Money that disappears faster than it can be explained.
- Family Trust that has been spent and not yet rebuilt.
- Relationships Closeness traded for distance, or for keeping the peace.
- Career Work that has quietly stopped being steady.
- Health What it has cost the body, and what it has cost the mind.
Layers, not a switch
At Restorative Reflections we work on the belief that most people carry several layers, and that they have to be taken in order. Nobody gets restored in one appointment.
-
The first layers often lift quickly
Naming the thing out loud to someone who is not going to judge you tends to bring relief faster than people expect. That relief is real, and it usually makes you want more of it.
-
The deeper ones take time
Some layers are hard precisely because they have been untouched for years. Numbing works, for a while. What it does not do is resolve anything underneath.
-
Pressure formed you, and it does not get the last word
You have been under real pressure to become who you are today. The work here is not about becoming someone else. It is about being restored to what was there before.
Counseling that does not depend on you getting across town
Most sessions here happen by video. That is deliberate. The hardest part of starting is usually not the talking, it is the logistics: the drive, the time off, the childcare, the risk of being seen walking into a building.
By video, anywhere in Texas
Sessions run on a secure, encrypted video platform. You need a phone or a laptop and a door that closes. Korene can see anyone physically located in Texas at the time of the session, whether that is San Antonio, Houston, a small town, or a work trip.
In person in San Antonio
For people who would rather sit in the same room, in-person appointments are available in San Antonio. Some clients mix the two: in person when they can, video when the week gets complicated.
Where this practice stands
Restorative Reflections is a faith-informed practice. Korene's work is dedicated to what she believes God is doing in this community, and that belief shapes how she listens: without judgment, and with the expectation that healing is possible for anyone.
Faith is never a condition of being seen here. If you want it to be part of your counseling, it can be. If you would rather it stayed out of the room, that is respected completely, and the work is the same.
May He grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans.

Meet Korene
Korene Larkin is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in San Antonio, licensed by the State of Texas since 2016, with a master's degree in counseling psychology.
Much of her career has been spent counseling people whose addiction brought them into the criminal justice system, work that turned her toward restorative justice and taught her something she has not forgotten: most people are not looking to be fixed. They are looking for one person who will listen without flinching.
She is a person-centered counselor, which in practice means the two of you decide together what kind of therapy actually fits you, rather than fitting you into a method.
How it starts
Consultation
15 minutesA first conversation. Korene explains what is offered, hears what is going on, and you both work out whether this is the right fit. No commitment.
Intake assessment and treatment recommendation
90 minutesYour first full appointment. This is where Korene gets to know who you are, what has been happening, and what support would actually help, now and later.
Individual counseling sessions
45 to 60 minutesOngoing work on what the intake identified. Most treatment recommendations fall somewhere between 12 and 24 sessions.
